3. MANAGEMENT BUY IN

You need management support. No, you must have management support. Beyond that, you really want management as your cheerleaders. Management can get everyone involved in the program. If you attempt putting together an e-Learning program on your own, and people do not become engaged, or the program just lingers without momentum, it will die a painful death. Your first try may be the only chance you get for a long time.

Solutions:
The first time you roll out your e-Learning program it needs to be a success. Call in all your corporate favors, give yourself a realistic timeframe and really do your homework. When you launch your program, keep it in front of people and do your best to measure the results. As you get the results, keep your management in the loop. Remember, management likes numbers and stats because they can’t manage what they can’t measure. Applaud them for backing the idea. It will cycle back into more involvement in the program and perhaps more Money and Resources. Nothing breeds success like success. And in most organizations everyone wants to be linked with a winner and a winning idea.
