What is Design-a-Course?
Design-a-Course is a quick and easy e-Learning software tool
enabling novice users to create sophisticated web-based training
(WBT)
courses within minutes. Questions, scoring, tracking, and reporting
are all automated to allow you to focus on courseware development.
If you can use word processing software, you can “design-a-course.”
Frequently
Asked Questions What does MindIQ provide our school?
Each school (even if you
are part of a county) receives:
- A unique URL (Internet address) on one of MindIQ’s
servers
- 5,000 student accounts
- 1 Gigabyte of disk storage
- 24 x 7 x 365 access to your courses
- Shared access to other schools’ courses listed
on MindIQ’s web site
What does the school have to do?
- Assign one person to be responsible for testing new
releases of Design-a-Course and report back in a timely fashion
and one
person to be responsible for reporting new ideas, software questions
or problems. This reporting needs to be done via email to support@designacourse.com.
This can be the same person for both functions.
- Share your courses with other schools in the program.
We are not looking for proprietary courses or courses that
contain information that is unique to your school. Sharing courses and
knowledge is what this program is all about. You can also use
Design-a-Course for staff training.
- Place a link (logo supplied) to the MindIQ web site somewhere
on your
school's web site.
How do I share my courses?
In addition to your own URL, MindIQ has a public section on
its web site to hold the shareable courseware. It is divided
up by
grade and then set up by subject within the grade. Within the
Manage Courses section at your URL, you have the ability to
publish your courses to the public site. You will also have the
ability
to bring in courses to your URL from the public site.
