Using RMS Utilities
Concepts
OpenVMS provides several utilities to help the system manager and users manage RMS files. Several of the RMS utilities embody or use features of the File Definition Language (FDL) Facility. An FDL file describes the structure of a file and can be generated in several ways. Although full use of these utilities may fall to applications and systems programmers, the system manager often administers ongoing file maintenance and monitoring procedures.
