This course focuses on Logical Volume Manager (LVM) procedures commonly performed on HP-UX systems and gives an overview of the Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM) with emphasis on how to use the Java-based graphical user interface.
The course begins with background information on disk management including terminology. Common LVM commands are described and used. LVM procedures will be detailed such as how to mirror root and swap disk, create new volume groups, import and export volume groups, and add disks.
The course concludes with how to load and use HP Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM) to perform some basic storage management tasks such as mirroring and striping. |
